#7 Nappa vs. Gohan, Krillin, Piccolo, Tien, Yamcha & Chiaotzu
Gohan, you’re the only real friend I’ve ever had. I want to thank you.
Piccolo’s noble sacrifice to save his son Gohan… man, tears started rolling down the inside of our cheeks.
Not to mention we saw Tien’s death, Chiaotzu dying trying to save Tien by exploding himself, and Yamcha…. well… he gets a participation trophy for trying to do something yeah, but he died too.
The Z fighters went down like the Titanic trying to bide time before Goku returned to save the day. They were completely overmatched but their sacrifices only made Goku toying around with Nappa that much more satisfying. A very emotional and enjoyable fight overall against an underrated villain in Nappa.
#6 Goku & Friends vs. The Legendary Super Saiyan Broly
Is it safe to say Broly is the best villain from the Dragon Ball movies? Featured in 3 different films, Broly’s motives aren’t world domination, immortality, or becoming the strongest fighter. He just want to beat Goku into a pulp.
And that he almost does. Broly absorbs attacks like a sponge showing his might compared to the other fighters. Piccolo and Super Saiyan form Vegeta, Trunks, Gohan, and even Goku fighting a 5 vs 1 match aren’t enough to stop Broly. It’s only when they transfer all their Ki and give it to Goku would they finally have a chance to defeat him.
Vegeta being the last one and hesitant to give up his pride has to eventually cave and give his Ki to Goku who finishes Broly in a single punch that would make Saitama proud.
#5 Goku vs. Majin Vegeta
Let’s admit it: Vegeta kind of went soft by the beginning of the Buu saga. His character developed from an out of control hot head during the Saiyan and Frieza sagas to become relatively tame (compared to his standards anyways).
Once the Majin spell was cast on him by Babidi we got that vintage, pissed off all the time, “I’m the Saiyan Prince!” Vegeta back with only one thing on his mind — defeating Kakarot. Even though that didn’t happen we got another good 45 min. battle of pure rage and jealousy fueling Vegeta with some excellent fight sequences. It almost looked as if Vegeta was about to actually kill Goku and redeem his Saiyan pride once and for all before coming in 2nd place again.
Never change Vegeta.
